Important Information For Our Guests Regarding COVID-19

Your health and safety is our absolute priority.

Welcoming, safeguarding and taking care of others is at the very heart of what we do and who we are at Accor. High standards of hygiene and cleanliness are already delivered across all our brands locally and globally. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and with a focus on guest care as hotels reopen, we have elevated these even further by launching our ALLSAFE Label which represents some of hospitality’s most stringent cleaning standards. To discover more about ALLSAFE click here

As the situation around COVID-19 continues to evolve, we are monitoring and acting on the latest guidelines and restrictions from federal and state governments to adapt our operation. For further details on the COVID-19 situation in the state of Victoria and the rest of Australia,  please refer to: and

Hotel Accommodation and Common Areas:

  • Social distancing is enforced in common areas with clear markers on the floor.

  • Hand sanitisers are located throughout the hotel, placed at the hotel entrance, on our reception desk, lobby and staff areas.

  • Frequent and increased disinfection of all high-touch surfaces and high traffic areas such as reception, lobby and lifts.

  • The use of the lift is limited to 2 persons at a time.

  • All guests are required to fill out and sign a travel declaration form in addition to the booking registration form.

  • Names and contact details of all visitors, contractors and suppliers are collected to assist in contact tracing.

  • Enhanced in-room cleaning processes and the use of TGA approved disinfectant and cleaning materials.


We have closed our onsite restaurant, ibis Kitchen since March 2020. Although some restaurants have re-opened from November with the further easing of the government restrictions, we have made the difficult decision to extend the temporary closure of our restaurant (for breakfast, lunch and dinner) for the foreseeable future. Room service is also temporarily unavailable for our in-house guests during this time. Fortunately, ibis Glen Waverley is conveniently located within 5 minutes’ walk of Kingsway dining, entertainment and shopping precinct so our guests have a lot of options to choose from. 


Our bar is currently open and we are excited to welcome guests back. 

Conferences and Events: 

In line with the guidelines and restriction from the Australian government, we have adapted our conference and meeting spaces to COVID-19 safe standards.

  • Reduced capacity in all meeting rooms to comply with the density requirements of four square metres per person in an enclosed space.

  • Tables and seats are spaced 1.5 metres apart, to ensure physical distancing at all times.

  • To support contact tracing, the name and contact details of each person who attends an event, conference or meeting is collected.

  • Hand sanitisers are provided in the conference rooms.

  • All lunch and tea break items are plated individually where possible.

  • Tea break stations are disinfected between each break and set with hand sanitisers. Disposable items are utilised where possible.

  • Frequent and increased disinfection of all high-touch surfaces and high traffic areas.

What Else to Expect:

  • Hand sanitisers are placed strategically at all guest and staff areas.

  • Reduced contact at check-in and cashless/electronic payments are preferred to limit contact.

  • Enhanced staff training on a new safety and hygiene program.

  • Updated briefings to staff which include stringent adherence to strict personal hygiene and health standards.

  • Hygiene and physical distancing signage are displayed around the hotel to emphasize to all guests and staff the expectation on all of us to stay safe.
